about liz levin interiors
Liz Levin Interiors, Inc. is a full-service, high-end interior design firm that works one-on-one with clients to discover and craft a vision of their own inspiration. Often faced with the challenges of family dwellings and first time furniture buying jitters, Liz and her team deliver comfortably modern and exciting interiors with a twist. They develop flexible and forgiving solutions for modern living that evolve with a client’s lifestyle and reflect their individuality. Liz’s passion for design began in childhood and became fully formed after college while living in London’s Notting Hill. In England, she studied British style and became inspired by their comfort with mixing old and new and unlikely color and pattern combinations. The daily exposure to old buildings that housed contemporary design, and a street fashion sense focused on fewer and more interesting pieces, sparked the beginning of what was to become Liz’s well-appointed design approach. Surrounding her time in London, Liz studied at the Corcoran College of Art’s design masters program and worked at a series of industry internships, including: Kelley Proxmire Interior Design and Scalamandré; a leading purveyor of decorative fabrics. In the emerging hipster neighborhood of the U Street corridor, she learned the ropes of designing custom furniture and developed the in-house design services program at Vastu, a contemporary furnishings store for urban living.
Liz launched her namesake company in 2004 with a focus on designing uniquely modern and livable homes. Her design vision blends high and low, and a mix of patterns and time periods to create interiors that command interest and captivate with charm.
Four years later, as a new mom, Liz also launched Nesting, a separate, online resource for child- and pet-friendly furnishings and design. Under the mantra “Keep Your Style,” she shares her tricks of the trade for living beautifully with children; a product of her practical experience with family clients and her personal transformation at home.
In 2007, just three years after launching her first design company, Liz was named a “Face of the Future” by The Washington Post. She was featured by The Post, again, in 2011, for her work in the DC Design House. Her work has also appeared in Better Homes & Gardens, House Beautiful, Washingtonian, DC Modern Luxury, Home & Design and HGTV Ideas. She lives in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband and two daughters.
